just sold sign with family 400

Dallas and Fort Worth rank as two of the top housing markets in the United States based on current and projected real estate fundamentals, according to Ten-X Research, an online Irvine, California-based firm that tracks the real estate market.

The two North Texas cities ranked as "hot," markets based on the strength of the single-family market based on current and future expectations, said Ten X Research CMO Rick Sharga.

"Dallas and Fort Worth are sitting in some high-performing real estate markets with some strong economic fundamentals," Sharga told the Dallas Business Journal."It shows these markets are getting away from that boom or bust cycle. They are extremely strong job markets and the affordability…

More than 400 people are moving into the D/FW region daily!

That’s a statistic from the U.S. Census Bureau that supports the strength of the North Texas economy. Add the fact that on average, home values have increased over 40% since the Great Recession, and you’ve got one more reason to be confident in our housing market.

In fact, you might be pleasantly surprised at the return you have gained on your own home investment. Healthy home appreciation, buyer demand and rising sales prices have contributed to increased home equity for home owners throughout North Texas.

Simply put, home equity is the amount of money available when you take the price your home would sell for in the current market, and subtract the balance you owe on your mortgage.…

classic midcentury modern reinvented 7406 Currin Drive 1

The classic midcentury modern home has become one of the hottest properties in America right now. They are highly sought after by a broad demographic, and you can find them in a wide variety of price ranges and locations — if you’re lucky that is. They go fast! Our Monday Morning Millionaire at 7406 Currin Drive is the best of both worlds. It’s classic midcentury modern, but it’s been taken down to the studs and completely reinvented by the talented team at Bernbaum Magadini Architects.

The house was originally built in 1954 by Harvey L. Tracey. Back then we had probably a fourth of the wardrobe and accessories that we have now, so large walk-in closets were unnecessary.  Energy efficiency wasn’t even a concept. No one in…

3616 Crescent

Originally built in 1963 for the Hexter family, E.G. Hamilton — the architect who helped found OmniPlan, the same firm that brought us NorthPark Center — designed 3616 Crescent Court in Highland Park to be a trend-setting home that took full advantage of the lot. The merit award-winning home is known for its excellent use of light and lines, with large rooms that make entertaining a breeze.

Mil Bodron of bodron+fruit poured time and talent into the home’s remodel, which successfully expanded the space while maintaining the character of Hamilton’s original design. It’s an incredible accomplishment in architecturally sensitive renovation.

Too bad it appears to be all for naught, as the new owners bought the home for almost…

Get out.

Those were the first words out of my mouth when I opened the photos of 10849 Clearbrook: Get. Out. An ardent fan of midcentury modern architecture, I feel a very strong mix of awe and envy when encountering a specimen like this one. You have your sports, I have my midcentury houses. Properties like this make me giddy – and it doesn’t hurt that this stop on the upcoming White Rock Home Tour is furnished to delight the eye.

Realtor Brandon Stewart has had the pleasure of selling the home twice – once in 2012, before the house underwent massive renovations and again in 2014, to the current owner and friend, Jeri Paduch. He shared with us the pre-renovation photos, which give us even more appreciation for its current…
